Zach here. I was originally going to post something two days ago on my birthday, but unfortunately, working from home (due to a prefecture-wide online two-day conference) prevented me from doing so.

With the guitar solos re-recorded, the instrumental mix is, for the most part, done and ready for the next part: vocals and mixing.

Hey everyone, I’d just thought it would be a good idea to give a bit of an update as to what’s been happening. The weather’s been crazy in Nagasaki over the past few weeks, first with the sudden drops in temperature followed by the current wet weather.

Our forthcoming song is one of many firsts – among them, the first Roseburn Avenue song with Tessie’s involvement, the first to be written partly in Japanese (also, the first John has written in any non-native language), the first involving Zach on vocal melodies, and the first to incorporate clear symphonic elements.

This year’s been a bit of a roller-coaster ride, with Zach losing his uncle towards the end of March and with his mental health in a questionable state for the first half of the year. Despite the challenges, however, he was able to push through and write most of the base song and the vocal melodies.
